Tommy Lee Jones joins Matt Damon in Bourne 5
Jason Bourne better steel himself for some stern, grumpy looks.
The next spy film in the “Bourne” franchise has tracked down another cast member in Tommy Lee Jones, thus avoiding a search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in Hollywood.
In addition to Jones and Damon, Alicia Vikander is expected to join the cast, along with returning actress Julia Stiles.
The plot is still unknown at this time, but rumors are swirling that Jones will be playing a superior officer at the Central Intelligence Agency. Frank Marshall is producing with Greengrass, Damon, Greg Goodman, and Ben Smith, and Rouse and Henry Morrison will executive produce. Paul Greengrass, who helmed “The Bourne Supremacy” and “Ultimatum”, is also on board for the new flick. Renner’s character may return to the screen at some point, but won’t be part of Bourne 5.
Jones recently directed, starred and co-wrote the Western drama The Homesman and has Summit’s Criminal, where he stars alongside Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman and Ryan Reynolds, in the can.
Bourne 5 is set for release on July 29th, 2016.
