Too early to talk of the title, says Chelsea boss Antonio Conte
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has claimed that his side will be pushed all the way by Manchester City and Liverpool this season in the race for the Premier League title.
They travel to City on Saturday seeking a victory over Pep Guardiola’s side that Hazard said would be a statement of intent.
“Two months ago we went to Arsenal and weren’t ready, but now we know what we have to do”, he said of the defeat. “It wasn’t easy because.to react, in this way with Pedro, to find the draw with also a fantastic finish, and I think the goal, that Pedro scored gave us, the right confidence”, said Antonio Conte, Chelsea manager.
“But if we’re still playing this way, with this passion, with this energy, it’s going to be tough to beat us”.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte warned his players to remain grounded after they returned to the Premier League summit courtesy of a gritty 2-1 victory at home to Tottenham Hotspur. “‘From the second half we deserved to win”.
“It’s important for our fans to live the game with great intensity and passion because they can transfer this to the players”.
The loss to Chelsea put an end to Spurs’ unbeaten run in the league this season and Dier is immediately seeking more consistency from his teammates.
According to the Independent, Hazard had this to say when asked who Chelsea’s main title rivals would be: “Man City and Liverpool”.
“Tottenham showed in this league there are six or seven teams that can win the title”.
Arsenal are yet to lose a game in the English Premier League since the opening day fixture against Liverpool.
The Spurs boss was pleased with the performance of his players but in truth, too many of his players were unable to shine against a powerful Chelsea team.
“I think that after that game you need to feel proud”.
“We have to improve a lot, we have a long way in front of us”, he added.
Redknapp insists Conte’s formidable charge are benefiting from the lack of European football, but fears injuries may be their undoing in the domestic campaign.
