Top 25 polls: MSU now 6th in AP, 5th in coaches’ poll
The AP Poll only has Ohio State and Baylor ranked ahead of the Tigers after Clemson blasted Miami Saturday afternoon, which ultimately cost Al Golden his job. The Tigers were No. 3 for five weeks, and No. 4 for a week, in 2013 before losing a top-five showdown to Florida State at Memorial Stadium.
The Clemson football team vaulted to the #1 spot in the nation on Monday in CBSSport.com’s 128 overall rankings.
Utah had its highest regular-season ranking after climbing to No. 3 last week, but dropped 10 spots after losing to unranked Southern California.

Baylor, Clemson, LSU and TCU – the rest of the top 5 – also received first-place votes, as did No. 7 Alabama.
Other ACC schools in the Top 25 include Florida State (#17), Duke (#22) and North Carolina (#25).
