Earlier, Mr Cameron had told Mr Corbyn: “All those people filling in their tax returns are going to be paying lower taxes under this Government, that is what’s happening”.
The Labour leader called on Cameron to let unaccompanied children escape the Calais camps and come to the UK.
Former Labour leadership hopeful Yvette Cooper asked the Prime Minister to withdraw his comments, which were made in response to Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s visit to the makeshift Calais camp known as the Jungle.
Mr Khan tackled Mr Cameron’s attack head on, telling the Standard: “I’m shocked that the Prime Minister described Londoners as “rats”.

HMRC is still refusing to say how the £130m was calculated, whether it includes any fines or interest, and what effective rate of tax Google has ended up paying, citing taxpayer confidentiality.
