Tottenham’s DeAndre Yedlin open to loan move
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino insists that there is nothing concrete in the rumours linking him with a move for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez. Although Yedlin is happy to move, Pochettino explained that it is not a decision that has been made just yet, with a more thorough assessment required.
Yedlin joined the north London outfit in January from MLS side Seattle Sounders in his homeland, but was restricted to just one appearance in England. But having not featured from the start last term and seeing Tottenham sign Kieran Trippier from Burnley and Walker return to full fitness, Yedlin is set for another campaign on the periphery.
Yedlin, meanwhile, is not anxious about the prospect of being loaned out, adding: “I’m feeling comfortable wherever I go”.
Championship clubs Bolton Wanderers and Derby County are both interested in luring Yedlin away for the new season.
Meanwhile, United manager Louis van Gaal seemed to have changed his mind regarding the status of Hernández as he said that the Mexico global will stay at the Old Trafford this season.
“It’s amusing because my friends and I spoke before about where we’d like to retire if everything goes as planned and America is definitely a place that we think about”.
The 26-year-old Alderweireld is an up-and-coming player on the Belgian national team (which knocked the U.S. out of the World Cup in 2014) and he recently came to Tottenham this summer from another EPL team-Southampton-on a five-year deal. “He needs time to show his quality and we’ll decide in the next few weeks”.
