Tottenham Sign Lucas Moura From PSG In Deal Worth Around £25m
Lucas has not started any league games this season and has featured in just six matches in all competitions, with PSG coach Unai Emery confirming he is free to leave.
Erik Lamela has found it hard to regain his place since returning from injury, and Pochettino said Moura too will be given no special preference. “But if you combine home and away [form], I think the last two seasons-and-a-half, I think we are second [against the top six]. The team is more mature, more experienced, we’re stronger in different aspects”, he explained. He needs to adapt, he needs to know the Premier League, the philosophy of the new team, and there are plenty of examples here at the club – Son, Sissoko, Lamela – that they need time.
“Exciting? No. We signed a player that is not playing at PSG”, Pochettino said at a press conference.
“We have got to put in the same performance as we did against United”.
“I’m so excited, everything is flawless and I’m sure we’ll do big things together”. A win on Sunday would see Tottenham leapfrog the Reds with 12 games remaining.
Moura officially traded Paris Saint-Germain for the north London club on Wednesday, where he was paraded around Wembley during Tottenham’s 2-0 dismantling of Manchester United. “We can afford to pay for Alexis [Sanchez] – the transfer fee was zero!”
He’s a shit-ton of fun, and Tottenham will be hoping that he’ll be the club’s own version Liverpool’s Sadio Mane or Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.
Lucas, who scored 16 goals for PSG last season, should add some extra penetration. “It’s fair, he’s better”.
The hidden value of the window for Tottenham is the fact that they didn’t part with any impact players. I don’t believe it will be possible. “I don’t care about the money!'”
“I’m so pleased with that, so I congratulate my players because they deserve the full credit and of course I’m so happy with the result”. I told you we’re still not there. We play well, OK? “I think it’s very unfair”, the PSG superstar was quoted as saying by the Independent.
His comments show the ambition of the player and that is good to hear from a new signing. But it is different to if you sign Neymar or Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
