Tottenham snap up Cameroon forward Njie from Lyon
Cameroon worldwide and Olympique Lyonnais forward Clinton N’Jie has completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur, according to the English club’s official Twitter account.
The transfer is subject to an global clearance and him securing a work-permit, which should be done before the end of the transfer window.
Spurs have purloined Njie from Lyon, with the 22-year-old signing a five-year deal at White Hart Lane this very morning – his birthday, of all days!
Njie is Spurs’ fourth summer signing following deals for Kieran Trippier, Toby Alderweireld and Kevin Wimmer.
“The club is ambitious and I’m ready to give my best to help the club achieve its aims”.
Njie, who can play wide or through the centre, has made 11 global appearances for Cameroon, scoring six goals.
“I’m still learning and I’m here to give my best”.
N’Jie scored seven goals and provided as many assists in 15 starts for Les Gones last season, his first full campaign at the Stade de Gerland. “I just hope I get the chance to give to the club what they are giving to me”.
He will provide competition for last season’s top scorer Harry Kane and plugs a gap in manager Mauricio Pochettino’s squad created by Roberto Soldado’s departure to Villarreal on Friday.
