Tottenham striker Son delighted for Janssen after goal
Tottenham cruised into the FA Cup semi-finals as Son Heung-Min’s hat-trick inspired a 6-0 win over Millwall at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon. Although both managers said they had not heard the songs, the Tottenham substitute Kyle Walker appeared to acknowledge the tone of the chants by pointing angrily towards the Millwall fans after Son scored the first of his goals.
Son was subjected to chants of “DVD” and “He’s selling three for a fiver” from the visiting enclosure. The 24 goal striker left White Hart Lane with his ankle in a protective boot, and will have scans today.
“In the last few months he’s stepped up and started to work better and I was happy in the way he was performing on the training ground”, Pochettino added. We’re all very disappointed about Harry’s injury, and hopefully he gets back as quickly as possible because he’s very important for us.
Harry Kane’s injury has opened the door for Tottenham’s top-four rivals to seal a Champions League place ahead of Mauricio Pochettino’s side, according to Ian Wright.
“I’ve got huge admiration for Spurs – their performance, professionalism and mentality – my players will have learned so much, how far we have got to go to achieve the levels they are at”.
“Son can play like a striker”.
Pochettino will be crossing his fingers and hoping that Kane’s injury is not serious as Spurs look to finish in the Premier League’s top four and also put silverware in the trophy cabinet in the shape of the FA Cup.
“He twisted his ankle in the same way as before”. We have to be positive.
“It’s hard. We hope it’s not a big issue but it looks a similar situation as his previous injury”.
“I’m sure it will be hard to play against Southampton next weekend”.
We’ve seen it more often than not, where players have been a sensation in the Dutch league but struggled to make an impact in the Prem. It’s hard. It looks a similar situation to Sunderland, during that game, but we’ll see.
Janssen’s goal could prove to be a timely boost for Tottenham, who look set to be without Kane for a substantial period after the England worldwide suffered an ankle injury during their 6-0 drubbing of the Lions in the FA Cup.
“He needs to show more in training”, Pochettino said at the time.
Yet I can’t stress enough how different Spurs are when Kane is not leading their attack. “It will be left to the authorities”.
“We want people dealt with harshly of course. It’s wrong in society, and it’s wrong in football”.
