Tottenham transfer news: Spurs ‘reach agreement with Rangers over the loan
Tottenham Hotspur midfielders Dominic Ball and Nathan Oduwa had impressive pre-seasons with Spurs and they’re being rewarded with a season-long loan to Rangers in Scotland.
One of them, Alex Pritchard, was such a success at Griffin Park last season that he played his way into the England Under-21 squad for this summer’s European Championships in the Czech Republic and is now knocking on the door of Pochettino’s first team.
Oduwa, 20, is known for his quick feet and dribbling ability.
The report from the Daily Record suggests that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has blocked a potential move to take Winks to Ibrox, as he wants the midfielder to feature in the club’s Europa League campaign during this season.
He is an England U20 worldwide, having represented Northern Ireland from U15 to U21 level, but like Oduwa he has not played a first-team game for Spurs.
Rae said: “Mark Warburton has come here with a list of players he wanted”.
“Not only are they working with a manager that Spurs know well but they are also getting the chance to play in front of crowds of around 50,000 every second week and that is also a big factor behind the decision”. Warburton and Spurs have had a rather amicable relationship over the past couple of seasons while he was at Brentford, and it appears Warburton is going back to the same well to get Rangers back up to prominence.
“It’s another two addition to the squads and I think bringing Ball in particularly is a good idea because Rangers are a bit short at the back if either of the regular paring are injured”.
