Toyota launches new Liva
Available in petrol and diesel versions.
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Akitoshi Takemura, Senior Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. It features a sporty character that extends from the exterior to the interior, and all the changes are cosmetic, with no revision in the performance or the handling of the auto. This special edition is based on the regular V trim of the auto, and only 400 units of this vehicle will be sold till December, 2015. The roof, OVRMS and the pillars are painted in black to give the hatchback a different look. Toyota says that this is the first time such a twin-tone colour theme is offered officially.
The new Liva features rear roof spoiler, black grille and ORVM (Outside Rear View Mirror). There are also a few enhancements on the safety front as the new Liva comes with Dual Front Airbags and Pre Tensioner and Force Limiter Front Seatbelts as part of standard equipment. The new Toyota Liva will essentially go up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and its newly launched Glory edition, along with other competitive products like the Tata Bolt and the newly launched Ford Figo. It continues to feature the same 1.2-litre petrol (79bhp, 104Nm) and 1.4-litre diesel (67bhp, 170Nm). Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
