Tracy Morgan in talks for first film role after tragic accident
If he and the studio can come to an agreement, Morgan will play the school’s coach.
The movie is called Fist Fight and will also star Ice Cube and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Charlie Day, reports TheWrap. The comedian, who has been recovering from critical injuries sustained in a serious auto accident for the previous year, is reportedly ready to get back to work with a role in upcoming comedy, Fist Fight. Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris and 22 Jump Street’s Jillian Bell also star. Evan Susser and Van Robichaux wrote the script. Producers include Max Greenfield, Shawn Levy and John Richard.
Dennis Haysbert is also in talks for a part, while JoAnna Garcia Swisher has signed on as Day’s pregnant onscreen wife.
“Fist Fight” will be Morgan’s first movie since he was seriously injured in an accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in June 2014, when a Walmart truck struck a limo carrying the comedian and several others. Day will executive produce with Dan Cohen, Marty Ewing and Billy Rosenberg. He surprisingly appeared at the 2015 Emmy Awards held last weekend.
Morgan is set to continue his comeback over the course of the next few months. Morgan was recently announced as the host of the October 17 episode of “Saturday Night Live”. The actor was previously a cast member on the sketch show from 1996 to 2003. The production is going to start later this month, to be set in Atlanta. It is expected that there will be more coming his way after this.
