Tracy Morgan pokes fun at his injury in his ‘SNL’ promos
The 46-year-old “30 Rock” star feigned memory loss in an ad reel Wednesday promoting his “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig this weekend, his first official return to TV since he survived the June 2014 freeway crash that killed his friend.
Bobby Moynihan and “Saturday Night Live” welcome back Tracy Morgan to host for the first time since his vehicle accident in June 2014.
Yet, Morgan looks good and healthy, and in another promo, Morgan joked, “I’m going to get everyone in this building pregnant!” The musical guest will be Demi Lovato.
The best bit? When Morgan delivered his trademark threat to impregnate everyone in the immediate vicinity, Moynihan clutched his chest and said, “That’s our Tracy”. “I can’t remember anymore”.
He also made a surprise appearance at the Emmy Awards in September, when he received a standing ovation. Morgan’s homecoming to the SNL stages comes 12 years after the actor-comedian moved on from the show’s cast to pursue other prospects.
The man behind “SNL” favorites such as Brian Fellow and Astronaut Jones was involved in a six-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike a year ago, which left one person dead and four injured. Morgan recently also tweeted about his first time performing stand-up since the crash at New York’s Comedy Cellar earlier this week.
