Tracy Morgan Returned To SNL In HIGHlarious Royal Fashion – You’ll Never
A few familiar faces popped up on SNL for Tracy Morgan’s big return to Studio 8H.
NBC “People are wondering, can he speak? Does he have 100 percent mental capacity?'” the 49-year-old shared with the audience. Morgan told the audience that he had asked Executive Producer Lorne Michaels to come back and host a show in its 41st season. “I might even be a few points higher”.
He began his monologue by pretending to have a speech impediment before saying he was just joking. “We’re so happy that you’re okay and we’re happier that you’re ready to make people laugh again”, Fey said as her “30 Rock” character Liz Lemon.
Morgan then set up a bit that he claimed was a clip from a “prophetic” 2012 episode of 30 Rock in which his character supposedly nearly died. Fey said above the ad.
The accident in killed one, injured others, and caused such damage to Morgan that the comedian was “still struggling” months after the incident.
“I’m back! It feels so good to be here”, Tracy Morgan declared from the Studio 8H stage Saturday night, returning to the show that put him on the map.
“Those watching at home were also excited over the return of Morgan using the hashtag “#WelcomeBackTracy”.
Tracy Morgan monologue – We’re not going to say that this was necessarily a hilarious opening to the show, but it was a lovely “30 Rock” tribute and a nice reunion of most of the show’s primary cast.
Longtime pals, Alec Baldwin and Larry David appeared in the show’s opening sketch as politicians Jim Webb and Bernie Sanders.
