A passenger train has derailed Friday in Spain’s northwestern Galicia region, killing four people and injuring 47 others.
Early reports suggest four people have been killed – one of which is the train driver – and up to 50 injured, with two in a critical condition. Television footage from the accident showed one rail auto flipped onto its side and caught against an electricity pylon beside the track. The back two cars were left partly off the tracks. Pictures posted online and in local media showed one carriage of the train, which was carrying at least 65 people, lying on its side, the front completely caved in and mangled.
