Transgender woman beaten, fatally shot in Philadelphia
Police said it is too early to know the motive for the attack, according to WPVI-TV.
She was taken to hospital but was later declared dead.

Authorities request that anyone with new information on Jenkins’s death contact the Philadelphia Police at 215-686-3334.
A person who says they are close to numerous transgender women in this area, says they’ve been attacked before. They asked anyone with information to call investigators.
Though Jenkins identified as a woman and used the pronouns “she” and “her” on her personal Facebook page, her sister Ronnia Jenkins told ABC News that their family didn’t think she was transgender. This means that, should state investigators conclude that Jenkins was killed because she was trans, her killers will most likely not be charged with committing a hate crime. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter’s LGBT liaison called Jenkin’s death “a tremendous and tragic loss for the entire city, our LGBT community, and, more specifically, our trans community”.
She added that the “inhumane violence” done to the young woman has no place in the community.
At least 20 trans women have been murdered this year, the vast majority people of color.
“I was thinking that visibility is only part of the equation”, she said.
The Philadelphia Police Department confirms to The Advocate that a 22-year-old trans woman known as Kiesha Jenkins was murdered today. “It’s just too much”.
