Trevone Boykin unlikely to play vs Oklahoma
TCU vs Oklahoma Live Streaming, TV Channel, Scores, Start Time, College Football Week 12 TCU (8-0) travel at the Memorial Stadium, Norman, OK to take on the Oklahoma (7-1) in a NCAA College Football rivalry on November 21, 2:33 PM. Horned Frogs coach Gary Patterson announced on Wednesday that Doctson (wrist) will miss the final two games of the regular season. Oklahoma held on only after safety Steven Parker batted down TCU’s go-ahead two-point conversion passing attempt in the final seconds.
Doctson set TCU’s single-season records this season with 79 catches, a national-leading 1,337 yards and 14 touchdowns.
But the reason Kohlhausen had a chance to bring Oklahoma back despite the impotence of the TCU offense earlier in the half is because Oklahoma’s offense had hit the skids too. He began his college career at Wyoming where he had 35 receptions for 393 yards and five touchdowns before the Mansfield, TX native transferred to TCU after the 2011 season. The Horned Frogs are 9-1 on the season, but without Boykin on the field, the team struggled to get the win over a winless Jayhawks team. OSU quarterback Mason Rudolph had four touchdowns of at least 40 yards in that 20-point rout of TCU, and the Horned Frogs have only allowed two other passes that long this month. It’s unlikely Patterson will announce a starter before game time, but Coach Stoops says he’ll have his team preparing to face Boykin. And then at halftime, they approached him again, wanting to go over a few things, and Baker admitted to having a headache. QB Trevone Boykin and the Horned Frogs are coming off a 23-17 win over Kansas.
The Spartans weren’t much better offensively, with MSU putting up 122 yards the first two quarters, although they did have just one three-and-out series.
Former Sooner Gabe Ikard took to Twitter during the game to defend the team’s medical staff for not evaluating Mayfield for a concussion.
Patterson also noted that he was concerned about fatigue that an overtime might give the team, pointing to the upcoming game against Baylor.
Orlando Brown helped put the nail in the coffin of Oklahoma’s first drive with a 15-yard penalty for shoving a defensive lineman.
