Tribute to Joan Rivers by Five Late Night Show Hosts
Joan Rivers, the legendary comedian who frequently appeared on the TV program late night and performed is no more with! In her long comedy career she used to host a show during the 1980s.
The actress comedian who died on Thursday afternoon, September 4, was offered farewell in the program by the host Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Craig Ferguson, Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Kimmel. The Us Weekly highlighted five farewells from the late night TV show of the lively lady, who died at 81.
Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy Fallon while commenting on the former Tonight Show guest host, said “It’s unbelievable when you see her work ethic.” From 1983 to 1986, Joan Rivers was Johnny Carson’s regular guest host, had a file cabinet full of jokes, said Fallon. Fallon became emotional while remembering the kiss Joan gave him during the inauguration episode. Jimmy said, “It was really emotional and really nice.” He continued, “I don’t want to show a clip, because I don’t think it will do her justice… We loved her. We will definitely miss her.”
David Letterman
David also remarked Joan Rivers’ ‘overpowering’ comedy chops. David said “would come out here and sit in this chair and say some things that were unbelievable.”
Conan O’Brien
The former Tonight Show host remembered Joan from when he was a kid. O’Brien recalled that when Joan Rivers hosted the entire family gathered in the living room and howl with laughter.
Seth Meyers
Seth Meyers mourned the death of the legendary comedian with whom he shared the stage. He recalled the last appearance of Joan Rivers in the Late Night show this August. He also told, “I have not sat next to anyone who told more jokes faster than Joan Rivers did when she was here.”
Craig Ferguson
The ‘Late Late Show’ host Ferguson commented Rivers was “one of the all-time greats” on his show.
