Trio accused of killing 2 people head to California jail
The Marin County Sheriff’s Office says the three are at the Marin County jail.
Three transients accused of using a stolen gun to rob and kill a Canadian backpacker and a yoga instructor two days apart were sent back Monday to Northern California from Oregon, where they were arrested.
Three people have been accused of killing a Canadian backpacker and a yoga instructor in San Francisco.
The suspects are: 24-year-old Sean Michael Angold, 23-year-old Morrison Haze Lampley and 18-year-old Lola Scott Alligood.
Audrey Carey, 23, was found shot in the head in a wooded area of Golden Gate Park early on the morning of October 3 after attending the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. It’s unclear if they have attorneys who could speak on their behalf. They are traveling under guard from Portland and are expected to be booked in jail Monday, Marin County sheriff’s Lt. Doug Pittman said.
Terence Olridge was heading to his job as a police officer when he and a neighbor were involved in an argument that escalated into a shootout in a normally quiet neighborhood in suburban Memphis, authorities said. According to the Marin County sheriff, the suspects were found in possession of Carey’s personal property at the time of their arrest in Portland, Oregon. Carter’s dog was also shot and injured.
Those circumstances are for murder after lying in wait, which means hiding with a plan to surprise the victims, and murder while involved in a robbery.
California prosecutors must decide where Lampley, Angold and Alligood will stand trial first – Marin County or San Francisco. She is believed to have been camping in the park while on a backpacking trip from her native Quebec, Canada.
Carter lived near the hiking trail where he was shot and drove there to walk his dog.
