Triple murder: Shutdown observed in Baramulla
Three bodies of young men were found in a village in Pattan township of Baramulla district in north Kashmir on 14 September. The bodies of the trio, aged between 17 and 21, bore torture marks and bullet wounds.
Police said they reached the spot after they were informed by local residents in Shutz Dangerpora village on Nihalpora-Wailo road in Pattan and have taken possession of the bodies.
ChennaiThough going by the statistics, the overall situation in Kashmir appears to be favourable, the popularity of home-grown Hizbul Mujahideen can not but be disturbing. An official spokesperson said the slain were affiliated with “Lashkar-e-Islam” outfit, indicating that the killings were a result of rivalry within Hizbul Mujahideen. The paid agents of India and counter insurgent SOG are responsible for the cold blooded murder of these militants.
In a statement to CNS, Hashmi said that while addressing Hizb Command Council, Sallahuddin said that Lashkar-e-Islami has no existence.
Reshi and Wani have been associated with the Lashker-e-Islam, a breakaway outfit of Hizbul Mujahideen formed by its rebel leader Abdul Qayyum Najjar, sources said. However, the agencies and the notorious Task Force killed them in their custody. He was lodged at Sopore police station.
Shutdown was called by Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik.
“We’re not involved in the killings”.
There were no reports of any protests when this report was filed, but a complete shutdown is being observed in parts of north Kashmir.
