Trout show powers American League to All-Star triumph

Should this fall’s postseason run the table again, an American League ballpark will play host to Game 7 of the World Series.

CINCINNATI (AP) – Picked to start the All-Star Game for the National League, Zack Greinke wasn’t sure he wanted his wife to make the trek from Los Angeles to Great American Ball Park.

Victor of his first season AL MVP award in 2014, the centre fielder joined Willie Mays, Steve Garvey, Gary Carter and Cal Ripken, Jr.as the only two-time All-Star MVPs. Fielder later became the 10th.
The All-Star Game drew a record-low television rating – 6.6 and a 12 share on Fox.
Greinke hadn’t allowed a run in 35 2/3 innings entering the Midsummer Classic.
