Trump accuses Cruz of fraud in Iowa, demands re
“As we saw last night with the narrative of Donald Trump losing to Sen”.
A 7News/UMass Lowell tracking poll of New Hampshire voters now shows Ted Cruz in second place on the Republican side, but with only 14 per cent.
Trump claims Cruz made up the diffidence and finished with a four point lead by spreading lies about Trump’s stance on Obamacare and purposefully spreading misinformation that Ben Carson dropped out of the presidential race.
Many conservatives love Cruz and hate Rubio, but they might be making a mistake by throwing their support behind Cruz. Instead of emulating Cruz, who covered every county in Iowa and had a powerful ground team, Trump thought he could win simply with a few speeches and by concentrating attention on himself, like when he skipped the Republican debate.
Unless another Republican gains momentum in New Hampshire, outsiders Cruz and Donald J. Trump-who have little support from Harvard Republicans-will likely face Senator Marco A. Rubio in a three way race, they said. “It is rare that we have the opportunity we do now to have a real contest of ideas”, Clinton said with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and daughter Chelsea joining her on stage. But despite touting his success, it seems Trump is still trying to tear his rivals’ wins down.
That is why on Monday, Hillary Clinton heaved a sigh of relief when she finally won the caucus in Iowa, in which she only landed third when she battled with Barack Obama and John Edwards in 2008. But she told CNN Tuesday, “I feel good about my prospects” in New Hampshire and that she is looking forward to the events Wednesday and Thursday for her and Sanders to showcase their differences.
Mr. Cruz is not much of a threat to Mr. Trump in New Hampshire, although he devoted a segment of time in his rally toward continuing to criticize the senator, as he has done for weeks. With the exception of one candidate, no eventual nominee for either party has come in worse than third place in Iowa since 1972, and those third-place finishers all either had special circumstances or, like Rubio, finished extremely close to the first and second place candidates.
Ted Cruz’s win in Iowa was a game-changer. Hillary Clinton got 28 delegates, Mr Sanders got 21. The mailer showed recipients their history of voting or not in past caucuses, along with the turnout record of their neighbors, and drew complaints from Iowa’s secretary of state. Yet, as the Jeb Bush campaign slowly disintegrated for inexplicable reasons, Rubio slowly emerged as the best alternative for the establishment of the Republican Party.
Neither would a defeat in New Hampshire ruffle too many Clinton feathers in a predominantly white state neighboring Sanders’s home base of Vermont.
“As people get out, they’re not going to go to Trump”, he said.
“I’m just honoured”, Trump said.
