Trump accuses Pelosi of ‘close ties to Russia,’ demands investigation
Donald Trump was having a wee bit of trouble last night on Twitter.
A subsequent attempt that updated the tweet with the botched spelling “hearby” was no more successful, and was also deleted.
Trump responded by demanding a second investigation, of Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.) for “her close ties to Russian Federation, and lying about it”.
After the mistake was discovered, he deleted the tweet and sent out another tweet, removing the space between the words “hear” and “by”.
Trump must have figured out his password again, or whatever, because he tweeted the old newspaper photo of Putin and Schumer enjoying coffee and donuts together. Watson, however, did not call Schumer “a total hypocrite” like Trump did.
Sources in Congress told ABC News that Trump Jr.’s speech raises more suspicion about communication between the Trump team and Russian Federation during the presidential campaign.
Mrs Pelosi initially denied meeting Mr Kislyak, but her spokeswoman later clarified that they had never had a one-on-one meeting.
Jeff Sessions spoke twice previous year with Russia’s ambassador to the United States before becoming Trump’s attorney general.
Schumer called for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign Thursday after it was revealed that Sessions met with Russian ambassador Sergey Kisylak as a Senator twice during the 2016 presidential campaign, but did not disclose the information during his confirmation hearing.
The photo appears to be from 2003, when Putin made a public appearance at a New York City gas station that had recently been bought by Russia’s Lukoil. What makes it superficially dubious is if you’re part of a team whose members, including Sessions himself, have been investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as part of a broader Russian Federation influence probe. This is patently untrue, as many in the intelligence community and military community are not Democrats and yet are exceptionally concerned, one might say panicked at times, over the Trump Russia connections. If she could honestly forget meeting Kislyak briefly in 2010, isn’t it also possible that Jeff Sessions honestly forgot meeting him last September even though, er, Russian hacking and Trump praising Russia’s president were major stories at the time? He has vigorously denied being aware of any contacts his associates had with Russian Federation during the campaign and has also insisted he has no financial ties to Russian Federation. Following his grand tonal reset at this week’s address to the joint session of Congress, President Trump has returned to his established pattern of posting histrionic tweets inspired by right wing media.
