Trump adviser endorses violence against Hillary Clinton
Baldasaro likened Clinton to Jane Fonda, the actress who famously visited Hanoi as part of her opposition to the Vietnam War.
Whether his campaign will distance itself from Baldasaro’s call for anti-Clinton violence is unclear.
Baldasaro said that as a veteran of two foreign actions – Desert Shield and Desert Storm – and a father who had also sent a son to war – Clinton’s actions as Secretary of State were a disgrace.
The adviser, Al Baldasaro, is a Trump delegate and co-chair of Trump’s veterans coalition, and appeared with Trump recently to rebut allegations that Trump has stiffed veterans groups on millions of promised donations.
During the news conference, which was broadcast nationally on cable news networks, Trump briefly stepped aside and let Baldasaro speak.
Baldasaro told the Boston Globe the next day, “When you take classified information on a server that deals with where our State Department, Special Forces, CIA, whatever in other countries, that’s a death sentence for those people if that information gets in the hands of other countries or the terrorists”.
“As far as I’m concerned, that’s information for the enemy”, he continued.
“When you give up (military) people’s’ names, you’re putting people’s lives in danger”, Baldasaro said, apparently referring to the scandal over Clinton’s inadequately protected private email server. “By repeatedly praising someone like Al Baldasaro in the past, Donald Trump has lifted up the worst of the New Hampshire Republican Party and shown exactly what kind of company he intends to keep as president”.
The New Hampshire Republican intended this as a defense. “They owe my wife and me an apology but I won’t hold my breath waiting, shame on them”.
Asked if believes Trump has committed any treasonous acts, Baldasaro said, “Not at all”.
Baldasaro is a retired Marine first sergeant. “Marines don’t have that problem!” In December 2015, Baldasaro responded to a Facebook post from a female colleague criticizing the passing of a bill regarding female nudity on public beaches.
From raucous chants calling for Hillary’s imprisonment from the floor of the RNC, to a justification for her execution from a party delegate, this week has seen a pernicious uptick in the rhetoric used to rally the GOP base.
He added, “Freedom of speech is a handsome thing”.
