Trump and Carson tied in Iowa, poll shows
Speaking on “Face the Nation” on CBS, Trump criticized financial support Carson is receiving through a political action committee.
The Iowa polls are a rare setback for the billionaire businessman’s campaign.
Trump immediately decried the emerging media narrative, painting the reports as dishonest.
“I love Iowa. And, look, I don’t have to say it, I’m Presbyterian”, said Trump. “Check all of them”.
“I had a casino boat built here”, Trump said. “He’s got people all over Iowa from his PAC, and they are running – Ben doesn’t even go to Iowa that much”.
The real-estate magnate has regained his significant leads in several national polls.
“Cruz’s big target is Carson”, she said.
Independents, moderate voters and minorities are far more important in general elections that draw many more people to the polls. The vast majority of likely Iowa Republican caucus-goers.
It’s not just voters. Establishment Republican figures have started to confront a new possibility: Trump may actually have a path to the nomination.
“Trump has burned many bridges with his remarks on women”, she said, “I see a total respect for women from Ben Carson”.
Here’s the thing: The Washington political class doesn’t choose the nominee for Republicans.
The retired neurosurgeon, who has suspended his campaign to promote his latest book, hasn’t been to Iowa for more than 24 hours in two months. “And I think we have to oppose him”. “We’re in un-chartered territory”, he said. “We had 4,000 people, and it was a lovefest”, Trump said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union”.

Trump spent $3.6 million from campaign contributions that supporters have sent in, while spending $1.9 million from his own pockets. It’s a movement. This is more than just Donald Trump shows up, he speaks, he leaves.
But Trump also dominates in issue areas where he has not laid out a clear vision. “He (Hussein) would kill the terrorists immediately, which is like now it’s the Harvard of terrorism”, Trump said. The closest competitor was Rubio, with (13%).
On a more serious note, he blasted Trump for saying that he would send refugees back to Syria if he becomes president.
“So those two guys are fighting like insane, and I’m laughing, watching them fighting”, Trump said. You have to balance that against 60% disapproval. Rudy Giuliani, who was mayor of New York City during the attacks, said laying the blame for 9/11 on any one president was simply “not fair”. With his poll numbers dragging, his campaign announced drastic cost-cutting measures last week that only fueled Trump’s insults. But he pointed to Trump’s high level of unfavorability compared to the rest of the Republican field as a factor that still threatens his candidacy.
“Trump does have the additional problem that he has a few ceiling of support because of his negatives”. While reading a newspaper headline, Trump said, “Donald Trump falls to second place behind Ben Carson”.
Trump went through the polls yesterday, the ones that showed him with a commanding lead, trying to justify his stance as the frontrunner.
Carson’s new edge in the earliest voting state is due, in large part, to his growing appeal among evangelical voters. “But we’ll see what happens because I find it hard to believe”. Carson is also beating Trump among Iowa conservatives.
