Trump Brushes Off Putin’s Alleged Killing Of Journalists
The love between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin appears to be mutual.
But he had warm words for Mr Trump, telling viewers: “He says that he wants to move to another, closer level of relations”. Can we really not welcome that?
“We are ready and we want to develop our ties with the United States”, he said.
Trump hasn’t given details about he would go about achieving that, relying instead on his fireproof self-regard.
Putin “does not like Obama at all”. He doesn’t respect Obama at all.
“He’s running his country and at least he’s a leader”, Trump said, leaving the hosts stunned.
Putin’s statement came after a Ukrainian journalist “passed on a hello from Capt. Erofeyev and Sgt. Alexandrov”, two alleged Russian servicemen captured by Kiev whom Russia said quit the army before going to Ukraine.
Most Republican presidential candidates and US President Barack Obama have been critical of the Russian president.
“He’s the absolute leader in the presidential race”, Putin said.
While fellow Republican contenders have been highly skeptical of stepped up Russian military involvement in Syria, Trump has welcomed it.
“We never said that there weren’t people there dealing with certain tasks, including in the military sphere.”
He also hedged on Trump’s penchant for blunt language that provokes both devotion and revulsion.
He also said he could imagine a scenario where there was a deal for Turkey to shoot down a Russian plane in return for Washington turning a blind eye to Turkish troops entering Iraq.
For those seeking more information about the “dictatorial duo”, as the release describes them, the campaign sends readers to Trump-Putin2016.com, a functioning website that cautions visitors that “by signing up you are waiving all constitutional rights, civil liberties, notion of privacy and subjecting yourself to a steady stream of hugely outrageous comments”.
“It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond”, Trump said at a rally in Columbus, Ohio. This would allow Russian, French and U.S. air-strikes against Islamic State to continue. But he would not weigh in on whether a Trump presidency would change U.S.-Russian relations.
Trump has repeatedly touted his joint appearance with Putin on an episode of CBS’s “60 Minutes” this fall, referring to himself and Putin as “stablemates”.
“I think that after the Syrian authorities familiarize themselves with the draft resolution, they will also find it suitable”, Putin said.
