Trump calls for ‘new election’ in Iowa, accuses Cruz of stealing votes
An aide for retired neurosurgeon Carson accused Cruz’s campaign of cheating to win the caucuses, while billionaire developer and reality television star Trump called for “a new election” or nullification of the results, Bloomberg reported. Carson finished a distant fourth in Monday’s Iowa Caucuses, garnering 9 percent of the vote and finishing behind Ted Cruz, Donald Trump and Marco Rubio.
Trump cited reports the Cruz campaign had spread word that once-popular rival Ben Carson was pulling out of the GOP contest, just as Iowans headed to the caucus sites. “Please inform any Carson caucus-goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted Cruz”.
It should be noted that although Trump is losing ground nationally, he’s still ahead in local New Hampshire polls by a landslide.
Trump latched onto it as a reason to invalidate Cruz’s victory over him in Iowa. Trump said that he spent the least money and had been way behind in the state.
Asked if he would appoint Supreme Court justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade, Trump said, “Yes, and I think it’s a possibility to do”.
But Mr Trump turned this afternoon, accusing Mr Cruz of lying to and defrauding voters.
“Every day from now until Election Day here in New Hampshire, I’m going to continue asking for the men and women of New Hampshire to make that same fateful decision yet again so that we can reignite the promise of America”, Cruz said. Marco Rubio – in the first vote after months of wall-to-wall media coverage raises serious questions about whether showmanship has a winning strategy.
Rubio wouldn’t be as bad as those in the “Washington cartel” who don’t listen to what the American people want but instead benefit their “crony friends”, Bossie said.
Carson, who came in fourth place with about nine percent of the vote on Monday, said Wednesday that Cruz has apologized to him and claimed he was unaware of his staffers’ actions. I don’t know what the final result will be.
Palin said King is lying about her “altruistic support of Mr. Trump”. “This is the moment they said would never happen”, he said, adding that the people of Iowa had “sent a very clear message”.
