Trump campaign lining up Mike Tyson and Mike Ditka for GOP convention
“Mike Tyson endorsed me”, Trump told the crowd.
Donald Trump is planning to have some professional coaches and athletes appear at the Republican National Convention next month.
Does “the media” make “everything” up? Tyson ended up serving nearly three years of a six-year prison sentence.
Earlier this month, Trump voiced his desire to have “winners” at the convention, and said that he was “thinking about getting some of the great sports people who like me a lot”.
On the campaign trail, Trump has touted the endorsement from Tyson, who has only recently re-emerged in popular culture, saying, “You know, all the tough guys endorse me”.
‘Iron Mike Tyson was not asked to speak at the Convention though I’m sure he would do a good job if he was, ‘ the billionaire wrote on Tuesday night.
‘Let’s try something new.
Knight, who endorsed Trump in April, said the billionaire businessman is the “most prepared man in history” to be president.
While Ditka, 76, has made no secret of his support for presumptive GOP presidential nominee, and Trump has in the past publicly returned the love, the Chicago Bears legend told the Tribune on Wednesday morning, “No one’s ever talked to me about it”.
Trump frequently credits the endorsement from the chair-throwing Knight for his IN primary victory.
The idea of having Tyson and Trump in the same room together on a public stage flooded our minds with endless possibilities of potentially hilarious and borderline inappropriate moments.
Ah, but the Bloomberg report said nothing about Tyson being asked to “speak”, only that he was among those being lined up to “appear”.
Trump also named Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
