Born Nimrata Nikki Randhawa in 1972 in Bamberg, South Carolina, Haley served in the state’s House of Representatives from 2005-2011.
The other Trump appointments announced so far are U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama for attorney general, U.S. Representative Mike Pompeo as Central Intelligence Agency director, retired Army General Mike Flynn as White House national security adviser, former Breitbart News chief Steve Bannon as chief strategist and Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus as chief of staff.
DeVos, from MI, is a longtime advocate for charter schools and school vouchers.
The pro-life politician has previously expressed her opposition to a nuclear deal with Iran, preferring to keep state sanctions.
The 58-year-old DeVos is a former Michigan Republican Party chairwoman. DeVos is married to the heir of Amway, which Forbes estimated has assets of $5.1BN.

Trump’s appointment makes Haley the third consecutive female USA ambassador to the United Nations, following Susan Rice and current ambassador, Samantha Power. And the move at least temporarily bridges the divide with her and Trump.
