Trump, Clinton have strong leads in Michigan
The presidential primary for New York State is April 19.
For now, though, Democrat Hillary Clinton holds a sizable lead over Vermont Sen. Ted Cruz “nasty” and Florida Sen.
New Hampshire voters are headed to the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes in the primary. Trump also identified fellow GOP candidate Jeb Bush as a “loser”, which coincidentally was exactly how the former Florida Governor identified Trump yesterday during the same game on Morning Joe.
In a head-to-head match-up asked of all poll respondents, Clinton beat Trump by 57 percent to 32 percent, while Sanders was favored 63 percent to 30 percent over Trump.
Clinton also does well in New York City and the downstate suburbs – 56 percent and 63 percent, respectively – while capturing 47 percent of upstate registered Democrats compared with 39 percent who go with Sanders from that region.
Trump – who on Monday night repeated a vulgar word used by a woman in the audience to describe Ted Cruz – was far more charitable when asked to describe Bill Clinton. Clinton leads Sanders by 21 points among Democrats. There is a decency on the Democratic side that is non-existent among the Republican candidates, and when it comes time to vote in November, the smart money is on voters selecting decency over the Republican Party’s rampant insanity.
A new Siena poll gives some insight into how New Yorkers are feeling about the 2016 presidential race.
The Siena Research Institute says the poll was conducted January 31-February 3. The poll had an overall margin of error of 3.8 percentage points, while it was 5.8 points for Democratic questions and 7 points for Republican questions, according to the poll.
