Trump Continues to Attack CNN Following Press Conference Feud
Peskov said the Kremlin was unfazed by reports that Trump’s pick for secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, would say at his confirmation hearing on Wednesday that Russian Federation posed a danger. They are using BuzzFeed’s decision to deflect from CNN’s reporting, which has been matched by the other major news organizations. He also said that the circulation of the dossier was just an attempt to spoil bilateral relations between the countries. That decision came after CNN learned that USA intelligence took the report seriously enough to brief both Trump and President Obama on the contents.
“As far as hacking, I think it was Russia”, Trump said in his first press conference in about six months.
They added: “After all, seeing is believing”.
However, Trump on Wednesday talked of yet another leak, and blamed the USA intelligence agencies for it.
Donald Trump unleashed a torrent of abuse on two media outlets Wednesday, calling CNN “fake news” and BuzzFeed a “failing piece of garbage” in a fiery diatribe during his first news conference since Election Day.
The session, held in the lobby of his Trump Tower headquarters in Manhattan, featured a number of viral moments, like an exchange with a reporter whom Trump accused of peddling “fake news”.
The Kremlin said on Wednesday it was “total nonsense” that Russian officials had assembled a file of compromising information on USA president-elect Donald Trump. The dossier claimed Russian Federation had recordings of Trump’s “personal obsessions and sexual perversion”. Asked “can you stand here today, once and for all and say that no one connected to you or your campaign had any contact with Russian Federation leading up to or during the presidential campaign”, Trump did not stand there and once and for all say that.
On Tuesday, CNN and BuzzFeed reported on a secret dossier, compiled by an unidentified former United Kingdom intelligence officer, which, the outlets claimed, contained proof that Trump was groomed and supported by Russian intelligence for at least five years and that he was target of potential blackmail by the Kremlin.
Clapper’s statement finishes with, “President-elect Trump again affirmed his appreciation for all the men and women serving in the Intelligence Community, and I assured him that the IC stands ready to serve his Administration and the American people”.
Weiler said these reports could affect United States foreign policy regarding Russian Federation. It didn’t happen. It’s phony stuff. I don’t really know much about him except to say hello.
Trump and Russian president Vladimir Putin have ridiculed the leak of the 35-page dossier – branding it “Nazi Germany” tactics.
