Trump criticises Clinton’s policies as Secretary of State
US Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders lambasted billionaire Donald Trump on Thursday for his vulgar remark on Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton going to the bathroom.
In recent weeks, however, Clinton has spent far more time attacking Trump and her would-be Republican rivals than Sanders, demonstrating a growing confidence in her primary standing and increased focus on the general election.
“You’re looking at somebody who’s had a lot of bad things said about me”, she said.
“I think we’re not treating each other with the respect and the care that we should show towards each other”, Clinton responded to Tandy’s question.
In her first debate as a candidate for elective office in 2000, her Republican opponent Rick Lazio infamously walked across a debate stage, wagged his finger and demanded she sign a campaign finance pledge.
Now, after spending weeks largely out of the spotlight nationally, Clinton plans to intensify her campaign schedule from an nearly incumbent-style public effort to a more aggressive approach. In August, just 38% said Trump brought the Republicans their best chance.
Has anyone considered the possibility that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have a secret alliance that will guarantee Clinton’s victory?
She then took a shot at Donald Trump.
The war of words between the two candidates has intensified since Monday when Trump used a disparaging slang to describe Clinton’s 2008 loss to Barack Obama involving the male genitalia. “But everyone who understands the humiliation this degrading language inflicts on all women should”, she added, tacking on the campaign’s girl-power hashtag #ImWithHer.
In an interview Tuesday with The Des Moines Register, Clinton said: “I don’t know that he has any boundaries at all”.
Trump went on to claim that the little girl who prompted Clinton’s “stand up to bullies” remark was actually planted in the audience. “BE CAREFUL”, the real-estate mogul and former reality TV star wrote on Twitter.
Trump’s personal attacks on women also extended to his Republican rival Carly Fiorina, of whom he declared: “Look at that face! And it’s been very upsetting for him”, said Sanders.
In August, he triggered outrage when he insinuated that Fox News host Megyn Kelly had subjected him to sharp questioning because she may have been menstruating.
Though the comment wasn’t clearly aimed at Trump, it could take on new meaning given what he said about her.
