Trump Criticizes Flint Pastor But Misstates Key Facts About Their Encounter
On Wednesday night, Donald Trump made an appearance at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Flint, MI, after taking a tour of a nearby water treatment facility.
“But something was up because I noticed she was so nervous when she introduced me”, Trump said, referring to Rev. Timmons. And I said, ‘wow, this was kind of odd.’ And then she came up.
Bornstein said Trump has been hospitalized only once in life, when he underwent an appendectomy when he was 11 years old. “There was no question about it”. “She was a nervous mess, and so I figured something-I figured something was up, really”.
“They had plans to make it a little more than they originally said and I said, ‘No, you’re going to stick to the original plan, ‘” Timmons told reporters on Wednesday.
The Rev. Faith Green Timmons came on stage and stopped Trump in the middle of his remarks at Bethel United Methodist Church.
When one attendee yelled out a question about reports that Trump “discriminated against black tenants” in the 1970s, he responded, trailing off, “no, I’d never, never would, never would, never would”.
“Okay. That’s good then, I’m going back to Flint”, Trump said.
“It doesn’t bother me”, an obviously bothered Trump said about being interrupted.
Mr. Trump said Thursday that it didn’t bother him.
“Something was up”, Trump agreed.
“If I as doctor had a patient like him, I would think he had good health for a man of his age and I’d send him on his way”, Dr Oz told the NBC News in an interview. “Had he stuck to what his camp claimed he came to do, we would not have had a problem!” she wrote in another Facebook post.
“It used to be that cars were made in Flint and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico”. Trump earlier on Wednesday visited the city’s water plant.
The Republican presidential nominee went on to say the interruption didn’t bother him, saying “everyone plays their games”. “Flint’s pain is a result of so many different failures”.
Trump was also reportedly heckled at the Flint church. “It doesn’t bother me”, he added.
Donald Trump released a letter from his doctor on Thursday that showed the Republican presidential candidate takes cholesterol-lowering medication and is overweight, but concludes that overall he is “in excellent physical health”.
