Trump Criticizes The Way Spicer Handled White House Leakers
The briefing list excluded CNN and the New York Times, outlets with which President Trump and the administration has clashed over reports on investigations into possible contacts between Trump associates and Russian Federation during last year’s election campaign.
The subject was raised at an event hosted by Politico in December, before Mr. Spicer had been named as President Donald Trump’s press secretary.

He is seeking clarification from the White House press team.
Dean Baquet, the executive editor of the New York Times, said it was the first time in the paper’s history it had been barred from a briefing.
The Wall Street Journal objected to the move and said that if it had known that others were being excluded, it would not have attended the briefing.

Multiple media outlets were blocked from a White House media briefing Friday afternoon.
The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) criticized the decision. “We asked them to tell the truth”, Spicer told CNN on Thursday, February 23.
About two hours later, Trump repeated familiar complaints about the “dishonest media” with a new twist: saying without evidence that news organizations fabricate sources for stories.
