Trump, Cruz To Hold Joint Event Blasting Iran Nuclear Deal
On Thursday, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump told reporters that he’s planning to host a a rally, “something big”, in Washington, DC, to protest the Iran nuclear deal. Now the two are teaming up together next month for a rally against the Iran Nuclear deal. The Texas senator has been one of only a few Republican presidential candidates to not criticize Trump, repeatedly declining for months to distance himself from his incendiary rhetoric or policy positions.
“It’s not too hard to imagine that we’re going to go the same path that led us to war in Iraq”, he said.
‘I don’t make commitments and break them, ‘ Trump said, adding that if he were to take the pledge and then run as an independent, ‘they should sue. Klein explains, “I think it’s of great value to have a person who will likely command coverage of this rally, of this issue, like Donald Trump would be able to”.
Cruz’s campaign statement said the event is sponsored by Tea Party Patriots, the Center for Security Policy and the Zionist Organization of America.
Morton Klein, president of the Zionist group, said the rally is tentatively slated for September 9. I wouldn’t give them the money. “I love the idea of a deal, but it was not a well-negotiated deal“, he said. “It’s not a bad deal, it’s a catastrophe”.
Cruz has been outspoken in his opposition to the Iranian nuclear deal, going so far as to introduce legislation to delay the vote until the details of all the so-called “side deals” are known, The Hill reports.
However Trump’s magic-carpet ride through GOP primary season ends, it will be remembered for (among other things) just how ill-prepared his fellow candidates were to take him on.
Congress is expected to begin debating the Iran deal when lawmakers return from summer recess September 8. “Nor have they forgotten that we are only days removed fromAyatollah Khamenei’s repeated calls for “Death to America, ‘” continued Martin.”This ‘deal” does not prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons; it virtually guarantees it. Congress must reject this awful deal”.
