Trump doesn’t want a Cruz endorsement. “Ted, stay home”.
Warren told Colbert that Clinton “has lots of good choices and I’m excited to see who she’s going to pick”. Introducing her father, the 34-year-old businesswoman insisted that he is committed to gender equality and would pursue policies that support working women. Ivanka claimed that her father “will fight for equal pay for equal work”, and asserted that he will make childcare “affordable and accessible for all”, despite a bevy of contrary remarks he’s made in the past. “Politicians talk about wage equality, but my father has made it a practice at his company throughout his entire career”, she declared. Trump said. “That is why Hillary Clinton’s message is that things will never change”. In Donald Trump’s Republican National Convention speech Thursday night, he painted a pretty dire picture of America today and sold himself as the law and order answer.
The speech opens with irony-Trump “humbly” accepts the nomination-before veering into now familiar territory.
GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump delivered a stinging putdown to former rival Ted Cruz on Friday, saying he didn’t want the endorsement of the Texas senator even if he were to offer it.
Ivanka Trump got an enthusiastic welcome at the Republican National Convention.
In a direct appeal to Americans shaken by a summer of violence at home and around the world, Mr Trump promised that if he takes office in January, “safety will be restored”.
He said: “Our convention occurs at a moment of crisis for our nation”. “This is the legacy of Hillary Clinton – death, destruction, terrorism and weakness”.
Trump said the crowd’s reaction showed unity in the party, despite Cruz’s calculated snub, which drew attention away from Wednesday’s main address by Mike Pence, Trump’s running mate. “The sort of bullying and braggadocious-ness that come from Trump are something that women naturally recoil at more than men”.
While Trump’s speech was immediately condemned by Democrats – and even some Republicans – his supporters who attended the convention had a very different opinion. “He’ll come and endorse, it’s because he has no choice”, said Trump, who wondered aloud if he could create a super PAC as president to target Cruz.
“I think she’s incredible”.
