Trump dominates Facebook and the Twittersphere, Ben Carson second
According to The Wall Street Journal, Ben Carson’s campaign employees are bringing in “hefty salaries”. Ignored for long stretches, his soft-spoken demeanor sometimes contrasted unfavorably with his more intense and passionate opponents.
Carson, 63, has been something of a celebrity in the medical community for his work in pediatric neurosurgery. He is known as the surgeon who led the first successful surgery separating a pair of conjoined twins.
Although retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson snagged a spot in the first Republican presidential debate, he didn’t think he was getting much love from the Fox News moderators compared to the other heavy hitters onstage.
He added, “There is no such thing as a politically correct war”.
“(The ads) will be explaining that we’ve got to start looking out for the future and caring about what’s going to happen to the next generation”, Carson said.
“What we do to get the information we need is our business”.
A Wall Street Journal editorial called on him to run for president, and he announced this year in May. He entered Thursday’s debate in fifth place with 5.8 percent support of likely GOP primary voters.
The next day in Iowa, Carson said the jovial moment was unplanned. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has scheduled another visit to Nevada on Wednesday, with events both in Reno and Las Vegas.
At one point, Kelly asked Carson – a black man – what he would do to heal the racial divide in the United States. “Six minutes? I don’t think so”, he said.
Here was one of the world’s most brilliant doctors calling on his experience to tell a story that was fundamentally about the content of our character rather than the color of our skin.
“The strategy is simply to be myself, to go out and try to answer the questions honestly and quickly”, Carson told a throng of reporters who gathered when he made a brief appearance at the Quicken Loans Arena to answer some questions for debate co-sponsor Facebook. “What can I say, Cleveland Rocks!” he wrote.
