Trump Endorses Ryan, McCain, Ayotte
Nehlen’s longshot bid against Ryan garnered more attention this week after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump thanked him on Twitter for his support.
Trump struck a rare conciliatory tone at a Wisconsin rally on Friday, imploring his party to unite behind him and opening a full-throttle attack on Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
In addition to Ryan, other top Republicans from the Badger State have said they will not attend Friday’s rally.
“So, in our shared mission to make America great again, I support and endorse our Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan”, Trump said.
Mr Ryan, who was earlier endorsed by Mr Trump’s vice presidential running mate, Mike Pence, is viewed by establishment Republicans as a possible presidential candidate in the future.
In an attempt to mend the division in the Party, prominent Republican leaders – and notable Trump wranglers – are making sure to provide “strong” endorsements to these two elected officials who face tough primary challengers from the right. The question now is whether the Republican Party can still work with Trump to win back the White House.
“He makes news when he tosses red meat out to people … but that’s going to drive even more people away” from his message. He also endorsed U.S. Sens.
Earlier in his interview Monday, Nehlen said he did not think that Muslims could be trusted to abide by the U.S. Constitution because of the existence of Sharia Law.
Donald Trump has announced his team of economic advisers and it includes numerous people who have been already helping his campaign.
Gingrich adds that, “John McCain is a national treasure”.
“Governor Romney is an ardent supporter of Paul Ryan and his re-election campaign”, Romney spokeswoman Leah Malone told Breitbart News. It said he will focus on “empowering Americans by freeing up the necessary tools for everyone to gain economically”.
And both were pretty wary to endorse the other.
Eager to change their minds, Trump unleashed a torrent of insults at Clinton throughout the day.
Pence told NBC’s “Today Show” that he is seeing “tremendous enthusiasm” for the Republican ticket.
They were rare concessions in a Trump speech, coming only days after the NY real estate mogul, because of various campaign spats, said he “wasn’t quite there” as far as backing the trio of powerful Republicans – all of them from states increasingly in play – in their reelection bids. Khan’s speech on the floor of the Democratic National Convention in which he evoked the memory of his deceased son who died serving in the USA military – while reprimanding Trump – was very moving for most people, but seemed to infuriate Donald Trump.
Trump conceded Friday he was wrong to claim repeatedly in recent days that he saw a video of a USA cash payment going to Iran.
“The plane I saw on television was the hostage plane in Geneva, Switzerland, not the plane carrying $400 million in cash going to Iran!”
Trump has been expressing outrage about a $400 million payment the USA made to Iran this year. Republicans call it ransom; the Obama administration says it was money the USA legally owed Iran. The campaign acknowledged Thursday that this was incorrect, yet Trump repeated the claim hours later at a rally.
