Trump hits back, says the term ‘radical Islam’ makes a big difference
“Clinton gets up and she sort of acted like, no problem using the term”. What exactly would it change?
“If there is anyone who might try to turn one of the worst atrocities in modern American history to his own warped ends, who could draw all the wrong lessons from the horror of what happened in Orlando, it is Donald Trump”. “I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs”. “The answer is none of the above”.
Obama said Trump’s plan to bar foreign Muslims from entering the USA ignored America’s history of targeting ethnic and religious groups amid period of anxiety.
He was responding to Obama’s strong statement earlier in the day in which he slammed the real estate tycoon for his anti-Muslim rhetoric including temporary ban of entry of Muslims in the United States, increase in surveillance and for describing it as “radical Islamic terrorism”. Maybe the problem is partly due to the fact that a number of prominent Republicans have joined in the attacks on Trump, thereby isolating him.
“The terrorist in Orlando was not born in Afghanistan, as Trump claims”, Clinton said in a national security speech in Virginia. “It’s not a strategy”.
He was responding to the allegations of Obama that the use of controversial term “radical Islam” would do more harm than resolving the issue. “This is a political distraction”. He would say that they are terrorists.
“Where does this stop?” he said of Mr Trump’s approach, noting the White House nominee had proposed a ban on admitting Muslims into the United States, and that Orlando gunman Omar Mateen was a U.S. citizen.
“Where does this stop?”
Trump drew major criticism a year ago after he proposed a travel ban on all Muslims entering the U.S Obama condemned the plan on Tuesday and called out the public’s mistake in generalizing Muslims. “Yesterday, America had a rare opportunity to compare them in nearly scientific conditions, because both Hillary and Trump gave major speeches in the wake of the Orland shooting”, Noah said, and “the vibes of the speeches were very, very different”.
This is a very hard time for all Americans and my heart aches for all of those who have lost family members or friends in the senseless killings in Orlando (“Maryland LGBTQ and faith leaders condemn Orlando attack”, June 13).
Obama was speaking after meeting with his national security advisors on the US -led counter-ISIL effort.
