Trump jokingly reprimands supporters in New Hampshire
Or is it that voters are just enjoying the reality show that the Republican presidential primary has become and will turn the channel to the news when it’s time to vote?
Christie on Sunday marked the opening of his second campaign office in the state – a cozy space in a strip mall next to a tattoo parlor in Salem.
Christie did back Common Core standards back in 2013, but now says he “supports state educational standards over Common Core”.
In a speech on Monday in New Hampshire, Rubio blasted the foreign policy failures of “isolationist” Republicans and the Obama administration. His shorthand version: “Showtime is fun”, meaning it’s now time to get serious.
“Show time is over”. Except, as reported by Politifact, the footage accompanying that ominous voiceover, showing hundreds of migrants pouring over the border, was actually shot in Morocco (which does not share a border with the United States).
Reaffirming his role as one of the preeminent national security hawks in the presidential race, Sen.
The governor of Florida – the home state of Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush – is praising Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
New Jersey hasn’t voted for a Republican for president since 1988, a longer stretch than all but eight states. Maybe the latter works better on me because I was raised in NY and their manner seems familiar and relatable in a way that it doesn’t for others, but some New Hampshirites are obviously responding too.
One of the ads, “Favorite”, asserts that Christie is President Obama’s favorite GOP governor, featuring the photo of their meeting on the tarmac in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2012-a photo-op many conservatives believe helped Obama secure his re-election, which has been mythologized as a “hug” by many on the Right.
Christie’s challenge is selling political experience in a year when that is anathema to many Republican voters.
In Concord, he had some advice for a fifth grader about the importance of studying hard.
“The reason they’re coming after me now is because I’m doing well and my message is connecting”, Christie told reporters Tuesday.
Christie has also claimed Cruz “made the country weaker” by working for the Senate’s passage of the USA Freedom Act, which banned bulk meta data collection by the National Security Agency. This week, Christie also referenced Rubio as one of the inexperienced candidates in the race.
“Let’s take this righteous anger and frustration, and make it productive for our party and for our nation”.
“I would compete in the state of New Jersey and I would compete in the state of the NY if I’m running against Hillary Clinton”.
So say the super PACs helping the New Jersey governor’s rivals. A RealClearPolitics average of recent polls in New Hampshire has Trump leading at 27 percent, followed by Rubio, 13.8 percent; Cruz, 11.5 percent; Christie, 11.3 percent; Kasich, 10 percent; and Bush, 8.3 percent.
Kasich’s Super PAC did a spot comparing Ohio’s budget surplus to New Jersey’s $10-billion deficit.
Bush’s new ad hits a dark and fearful tone, similar to Trump’s. “It’s good to be attacked”. “It means I’m in the game”.
It’s “fair game” to bring up former President Bill Clinton’s past infidelities on the campaign trail, Christie said Tuesday, though he argued there are more effective ways to attack Hillary Clinton.
“There’s something wrong in this country when a totally inexperienced politician can lead the pack at this stage”, Porter said. “His momentum is really just starting, and he’s got flawless timing with the caucuses less than a month away”, said Adrianne Branstad, a 35-year-old Des Moines Republican who has endorsed the New Jersey governor.
