Trump on Obama and ISIL: “I was being sarcastic but…”
WALLACE: Well, I’m glad for that last comment.
Trump has said repeatedly his finances are being audited and has refused to release them until the audit is complete. Did anything in particular stand out?
“Your move”, Clinton campaign aide Ian Sams said on Twitter, linking to the Democratic nominee’s returns.
“They had eight states”.
To that end, Clinton’s campaign on Friday intensified pressure on Trump to release his tax returns, while disclosing her 2015 filings and a decade of returns from her running mate.
Let’s turn to Donald Trump’s charge that Hillary Clinton was one of the founders of ISIS.
Trump is also set to make clear in his prepared remarks that the United States will abandon any ambitions for nation-building or spreading democracy in the Middle East, expanding on his criticism of the Iraq War while on the campaign trail. “In stark contrast, Donald Trump is hiding behind fake excuses and backtracking on his previous promises to release his tax returns”.
The impact of Trump’s tax plans on The Donald himself?
The questioner identified himself as a Democrat who loved Clinton as president and is supporting his wife, Hillary Clinton, in the 2016 election.
Protesters at Trump afternoon rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, held up signs reading “Tax Forms” before being escorted out by security. He’s slipping nationally and in battleground states.
In Utah, typically a reliably Republican state, Mr Trump’s challenges have been particularly striking. In the latest ABC poll, Clinton has nearly 50 percent support from independents. That will certainly get Donald Trump’s attention.
Trump made his accusations about Obama during a campaign rally on August 10.
Trump today tried to calm down the situation by saying he was being sarcastic. So a lot of pessimism of Republicans. Maybe Trump learned his lesson the hard way that saying things like “Obama founded ISIS” probably does more harm than good when those words get the stamp of approval by the world’s most contentious figures. Hillary needs to thank her lucky stars Trump won the Republican nomination (still have no clue how he pulled that off) because this ensured her second stint back in the White House.
So Republicans are really upset about this because Trump routinely misses opportunities to focus on Hillary Clinton’s troubles, of which there are many including emails between the foundation and State Department officials which also came out this week.
Trump is in the process of refocusing his campaign amid declining poll numbers. The Trump campaign didn’t respond to inquiries.
Trump and his fellow Republicans like to lambaste Clinton for her alleged “pay-for-play” schemes. I guess everyone knows this except Donald Chump, smh.
LIASSON: But way back in the spring, he did an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly where he suggested a different reaction to losing. Trump replied, “I don’t care”.
LIASSON: So there you have it – either he can go back to his nice life or he’s just wasted a lot of time, energy and money.
