Trump on who’s to blame for 9/11
“Mr. Trump is probably going to say that FDR was around when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor”, he said Sunday on CNN.
Trump argued earlier Monday morning that he is merely stating the truth about the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C.in September 2001.
Trump also stated his plans to talk to Vladimir Putin with regards to enforcing the nuclear deal with Iran. “That wasn’t true”, Trump said. “There were calls for security, it looks like they didn’t get it”, responded Bush. “And I’m not blaming anybody and I’m not blaming George Bush, although if you look at his three primary agencies, they hated each other, they weren’t talking…” “Blame him or don’t blame him, but he was president. But the World Trade Centre came down, so when he said we were safe, that’s not safe”.
Hannity played a recording of former president Bill Clinton revealing that in 1996 he did not capture Osama bin Laden because he had not yet committed any crimes against Americans. I think we’re getting a little bit of a bad rap on all that stuff but, you know, who cares?
Attempting to contrast himself to the billionaire real estate mogul, Bush insisted, “We are in serious times, and we need a President who will have the resolve to take on the terrorists and restore America’s position in the world”.
Trump has faced scrutiny for his plan to combat illegal immigration. “We have tremendous discontent in the country”, Trump told Chris Wallace on FOX. “I doubt that those people would’ve been in the country…”
“I like people that weren’t captured, OK?” “So there’s a good chance that those people would not have been in our country”. I don’t like to go back and blame.
Ratcheting up the row a notch further, Trump tweeted back: “You’re pathetic for saying nothing happened during your brother’s term when the World Trade Center was attacked and came down”. Jeb Bush fumbled answers to questions about his brother’s decision to invade Iraq in 2003 for an entire week in May, struggling to explain whether he would have done the same. Jeb Bush scored his biggest applause of the evening when he pivoted to his right to face Trump and said calmly, “As it relates to my brother, there’s one thing I know for sure”.
“He gave a speech at one point, that he also during debates, he said the country was safe under my brother”, Trump said of Jeb. And there’s no denying that.
