Trump praises Putin after being told he kills political opponents
Trump who still leads all the polls in the race for the GOP nomination, was blasted by aides of former Republican nominee, Mitt Romney.
“We never said that we did not have people there who are dealing with certain issues”, Putin said of southeastern Ukraine, the base for the Russian-backed separatists.
Donald Trump on Friday praised Vladimir Putin and appeared to defend the autocratic Russian president when pressed about his alleged killing of journalists and political opponents critical of his rule.
Well, I mean, also, it’s a person that kills journalists, political opponents, and invades countries. “Obviously that would be a concern”.
“Our country does plenty of killing also”, Trump added.
“I’ve always felt fine about Putin”, Trump said. Until he does, we’ll just have to imagine a future world where tension between world powers melts away after two terrific, grade-A leaders finally get to negotiate and make the best deals.
Russian Federation analyst Jill Dougherty described Putin’s comment as “tough talk” and “a little chest thumping” to a particular audience. Putin said he did not rule out that Ankara was acting with tacit approval from Washington, possibly so that the United States would look the other way to let Turkey “go onto Iraqi territory and occupy part of it”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin heaped praise on Donald Trump on Thursday.
Donald Trump hasn’t responded to Putin’s remarks yet. However, he declined to weigh in on whether US-Russian relations will change if Trump becomes the president. “If he says something positive, that’s a good thing”, Trump said.
The subtext here is, perhaps, that Trump is a strongman that other strongmen would have a beer with. Putin wants Crimea? He takes Crimea.
And, of course, it’s nothing short of stunning to wave away the politically motivated murder of members of the media using some random false equivalency. And a tough guy too, a leader. But “I think that I would at the same time get along very well with him”. “I don’t know if the Americans need this”.
“He is a very flamboyant man, very talented, no doubt about that”, Putin said today of Trump.
“Sen. Cruz’s silence suggests he endorses (Trump’s positions) in some way”, Walsh said. The plan says nothing about Assad’s future but says “free and fair elections would be held pursuant to the new constitution within 18 months”.
Putin also seems pretty enthusiastic about hanging out one day.
