Senator Jeff Sessions, vice chairman of trump’s transition had suggested that the President-elect could consider Romney for a position in his administration – possibly the US Secretary of State, according to Washington Post.
An internal dispute among Donald Trump‘s advisers broke out into the open on Sunday when his campaign manager warned that the president-elect could face an intense backlash from supporters if he chose Mitt Romney to be his secretary of state. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Romney recorded robocalls for Cruz, arguing, “A vote for John Kasich is a vote for Donald Trump.” referring to independent candidate Evan McMullin, Conway said on Sunday, “As McMullin ran in the state of Utah for president, we don’t know who Mitt Romney voted for”.

One top aide described Conway’s behavior as “dangerous”. Specifically, she took issue with elements of the anonymously-sourced report that were, per her message’s description, “sexist”.
Her comments left Trump furious, according to a political insider, and he and other top aides for the Trump transition team are anxious that Conway is trying to go rogue and push her own agenda onto the American public, according to CNBC. But she also said she’s “very pleased” that Trump and Romney met earlier this month, in Bedminster, New Jersey.
The Tuesday meeting was announced on Monday by Trump’s transition team in a telephone conference call with journalists and comes after one of his closest collaborators, former campaign director Kellyanne Conway, openly criticized Romney on Sunday on several television programs.
Fabio reportedly was seated at a table near Trump, and “was asked for pictures almost as often as Trump himself”. Stein also asked for a recount in Pennsylvania and was expected to do the same in MI, where officials certified Trump’s victory Monday.
As for whether he thinks Romney owes Trump an apology, Priebus wouldn’t comment.
