Trump Responds to Cruz’s #Trumpertantrum Attack: ‘I Don’t Have Tantrums’
Cruz bested Trump with 28 percent of caucus-goers’ pledges on Monday compared to Trump’s 24%.
US Presidential hopeful and general lightning rod Donald Trump has confessed that his decision to skip the Fox News Debate just ahead of the crucial Iowa caucuses may be the reason for his shock defeat. “We would like to say how disappointed we are in the dirty tricks that were played in tonight’s campaign”, Carson’s campaign Manager Barry Bennett said Monday night.
Needless to say, holding the Iowa caucuses for a second time seems rather unlikely, but these latest broadsides should only intensify the increasingly contentious battle between Trump and Cruz.
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, having prevailed in Iowa, teased Trump for having attacked him bitterly on the way to an embarrassing loss.
“To tell you the truth, the Iowa caucus is so complicated, it’s not 100 percent sure that we didn’t win it”, Sanders told Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie on TODAY Wednesday.
“Yet another #Trumpertantrum”, Cruz wrote in a retweet of one of Trump’s posts.
But with mainstream Republican support increasingly accruing to Rubio and Cruz showing strength with very conservative GOP voters, Trump now finds himself at his most vulnerable point since entering the race in June.
“Ted Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he stole it”, Trump tweeted.
Trump continued to hold a wide lead among likely Republican primary voters in New Hampshire.
The CNN/WMUR poll was conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center by telephone from February 2 through February 4.
“Reality hit the reality TV star in Iowa, so nobody is talking about him now, so he’s trying to regain some attention on Twitter”, Cruz’s Communications Director Rick Tyler told CNN.
He also questioned why Marco Rubio was hailed as “surging” for his third-place finish.
In another tweet, Trump said Cruz had lied about his opinion of President Barack Obama’s healthcare program, Reuters reported.
In addition, he also said that Trump keeps on raising issues that have nothing to do with the citizens of New Hampshire and SC, the next states to vote for their GOP presidential candidate.
Carson called Cruz out for it, Cruz apologized and everyone went on their merry way.
