Trump’s Muslim ban call endangers US security
Trump, 69, is facing backlash and severe criticism from various quarters, including his own party, for the comment.
“Anything that bolsters ISIL’s narrative and pits the U.S. against the Muslim faith is certainly not only contrary to our values, but contrary to our national security”, Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook told reporters at a separate briefing.
There has been a global outcry since Mr Trump made his remarks.

At his campaign rally on Second World War aircraft carrier the USS Yorktown in South Carolina, Trump expressed concerns that those already in power in the U.S. were failing to combat terrorism, but explained his proposed solutions will have the desired effect. “Trump is saying out loud what other Republicans merely suggest”, he said on the Senate floor.
The capital’s Mayor Boris Johnson dismissed Trump’s comments as nonsense, adding: “The only reason I wouldn’t go to some parts of NY is the real risk of meeting Donald Trump”.
“Republican leaders were strong in their condemnation”.
Turel said while she understands the fear that Americans are feeling, she said terrorists kill Muslims as well, and most Muslims do not identify with the brutal violence that ISIS encourages.
