Trump’s taunts threaten to overshadow Clinton’s return

Clinton campaign spokeswoman Christina Reynolds said last week that “Hillary Clinton won’t be bullied or distracted by attacks he throws at her and former President Clinton”, but Bill Clinton’s history of defending against attacks on his wife suggests that he will at least slug back.

Clinton’s speech, which was quite understated, marked the start of what many expect to be a drive of one month to help Hillary win the caucuses in Iowa and the primary in New Hampshire.

KEITH: During the 2008 campaign, there were real concerns that the former president would overshadow Hillary Clinton on the stump.

Clinton called his wife Hillary the best choice for improving the economy, fighting the opiate addiction and battling terrorism.

“I thought she was the most awesome person”, he said, remarking that Hillary Clinton was in law school at a time when her male classmates far outnumbered her. “She could’ve written her ticket to go anywhere she wanted”.

“I can tell you what I am”, Clinton responded. She has said that the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group in Iraq and Syria are using Trump’s rhetoric to recruit new people. They’re starting to get it. They’re actually starting to get it.

“He doesn’t need to”, one of Hillary Clinton’s supporters said after the event.
