Trump says black pastors likely pressured not to endorse him
Donald Trump is falling in the GOP candidate polls as he is dogged by his controversial remarks about Muslims and rebuffed by black clergy.
“It’s just wrong. It’s factually wrong”, Christie said. “I think they’re trouble”.
CHUCK TODD: This didn’t happen in New Jersey. Just play cool… I have a very good memory. He first said we had no interest in being involved in Syria.
That being a fact, I, again, am mystified by why so many pastors-on Monday, November 30th, 2015, Mr. Trump will meet with a coalition of black clergy who want to hear him out, though he’s said plenty and none of it substantive-would risk their reputations to stand with an embattled man who nearly every day does or says something that either denigrates or alienates someone or some group or class of people.
The video refers to viewers not caring about Trump talking about rounding up Hispanic immigrants or roughing up protesters who are black or making Muslims register in the U.S. because they might not be any of those three groups. “He must be careful with what he says”.
Trump also drew criticism recently for re-tweeting an image of inaccurate statistics that vastly over-represented the number of whites killed by blacks.
Mr Trump told US TV yesterday that he had heard from “hundreds of people that agree” that there were televised Muslim celebrations of the attacks.
During a Monday interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Trump suggested that Black Lives Matter activists had pressured the pastors out of endorsing the Republican front-runner.
Trump alleged that The Washington Post reported about the tailgate parties he had been talking about. He said that the black religious leaders wanted to meet with him, but that they may have been pressured by members of Black Lives Matter to not openly back him. Trump appeared to consider the idea when asked about it, then later declined to rule it out when repeatedly invited to do so.
‘You’re running for president of the United States. “I’m gonna support the Republican nominee”. The demonstrators also have targeted Republican and Democratic presidential campaign events. Nobody can find evidence of this, but the article you tweeted out that said you backed it up, that in itself there were three or four different reports that month in New Jersey that said that it was a myth, a false rumor, FBI, you name it! “And we’re thrilled about the endorsement”. “But if he keeps going and he actually becomes president he may get around to you and you better hope that there’s someone left to help you”, Moe said, paraphrasing the anti-Nazi words of German pastor Martin Niemoller.
“I was prepared to share my thoughts with him about the injustice and racism that still plague our communities as well as enlighten him about our culture that has been misunderstood for years”, Walker wrote in an email.
