Trump says he did ‘very well’ in Iowa
Talking Points would like to set the record straight tonight. On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable. Andy Smith, director of the UNH Survey Center, says this statistic doesn’t bode well for Trump or the party.
Carson will be here shortly.
Trump bowed out of Fox News/Google debate in Des Moines – the final debate before the caucuses – after objecting to co-moderator Megyn Kelly, who he contended had treated him unfairly, as well as a statement that Fox News issued as he threatened to pull out.
From left, Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.), Donald Trump and Sen.
Had Mr. Trump showed up and done well in the debate, the late deciding numbers would not have been that way in my opinion. Rubio said he was leaving his fate in the Republican U.S. presidential primary contests in God’s hands, and added that he hoped his children would be proud of him “no matter how this turns out”.
But the tie means absolutely nothing. “I mean, you never know”. “Last night when our political team saw the CNN post saying Dr. Carson was not carrying on to New Hampshire and SC, our campaign updated the grassroots leaders just as we would with any breaking news story”.
Cruz on Wednesday said that Trump only made the accusations because he’s upset he lost the Iowa caucus.
Donald Trump remains on top of every poll in New Hampshire.
Her rival Bernie Sanders is claiming to have “astounded the world” by coming from nowhere and forcing Clinton into an nearly dead heat. Sanders enters the primary with a double-digit lead over Clinton in the polls in a state that Clinton won in the 2008 primary. And we’re leaving tonight, and tomorrow afternoon, we’ll be in New Hampshire, and that’ll be something special. “And I think we’re going to be proclaiming victory, I hope”, he said.
It is clear that in Iowa, religious voters preferred the very conservative Cruz.
Tuesday was Trump’s worst media day since he entered the race. The one saving grace on the Republican side of things is how close Marco Rubio came in votes to overcoming Donald Trump. “This year there is ‘no mo.’ The race has reset after Iowa, and the New Hampshire campaign over the next week will have a life of its own”. First is momentum: whether Rubio and Cruz can maintain it, and whether Trump can regain it. Second is who will attract the GOP voters who support the floundering candidates as they quit or become obvious no-hopers but refuse to quit. The second, lower poll, was taken among people who are routine caucus-goers.
