Trump Sells Park Ave. Penthouse for $21 Million
Ms. Griffith said Mr. Trump was the first and only owner of the unit, located on the 24th floor of the 32-story tower, though he never lived there.
Donald Trump owns a second apartment in the Manhattan building where he sold one for $21-million.
The condo was a part of Trump’s real estate portfolio, said Griffith, who said that while the apartments in the building routinely fetched high five-figure rents, it was an auspicious time to sell. The unit was priced at $35 million in 2013; it was last offered at $24.995 million, according to public records.
The buyer’s agents, Alatia Bradley Bach and Leighton Candler of Corcoran Group, declined to name their client.
The all-cash deal closed on Friday to an undisclosed buyer from the U.S., Griffith said.
Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, who works as executive vice president of development and acquisitions at the Trump Organization – and lives in the building, told the Journal the sale wasn’t related to political fundraising. The Wall Street Journal reported the transaction earlier Monday.
Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for the Trump campaign, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the sale.
Amid a presidential candidacy stirring up controversy at almost every turn, Republican White House hopeful and real estate mogul Donald Trump apparently can still make time for a good deal.
