Trump sticks with Mideast peace
Donald Trump was booed today at the Republican Jewish Coalition conference for refusing to say that Jerusalem must remain the undivided capital of Israel.
“Hundreds of Jewish political activists gathered for the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) presidential forum, and Trump had the crowd rolling – even when his jokes touched on well-worn Jewish stereotypes about being good negotiators and strong businesspeople”.
“This is a woman that is a bad person”, Trump said of Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz after calling her “crazy” and a “highly neurotic woman”.
He also cracked about being in a room full of negotiators like himself multiple times during his remarks. “You tell me where we have a better ally that has more guts, more courage, more strength, more values than the State of Israel”, he said.
“Stupidly, you want to give money….You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money”.
“You know, I’m going to be probably going over there pretty soon and I want to see him, I want to see other people, I want to get some ideas on it”, he said.
He said: “I don’t know that Israel has the commitment to make it, and I don’t know the other side has the commitment to make it”. “I don’t want your money”. “We do not believe he intended his comments regarding negotiations and money to relate specifically to their Jewishness, but we understand that they could be interpreted that way”. He said he planned to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a trip to Israel “sometime after Christmas, probably”.
Hamas security officials said that an Israeli tanks fired suddenly two shells on al-Fukhari neighborhood east of the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip, adding that two residents were moderately injured. But what Trump said on this subject went over like a lead balloon in the particular room in which he was speaking.
“I’ve devoted so much time over my life to Israel”, Trump said, vaguely contrasting that devotion with his other GOP rivals.
Trump said many members of the audience wouldn’t back him because he didn’t want their campaign contributions and therefore wouldn’t be beholden to them.
“That’s his thing, Trump is about shtick”, he said. So it is antisemitic not only to say or do anything opposed to Israeli colonization of the occupied territories, but even to let consumers know what’s coming from those territories?
“Israel now has no viable partner for peace”, Rubio revealed, describing how the Palestinian Authority rewards terrorists for engaging in acts of jihad, saying that terrorists are paid according to how many Israeli Jews they have killed. “He didn’t advance his goal of showing any foreign policy”.
“Israel needs more than just our support”.
There was one universal sentiment among the White House hopefuls: They call agreed that Democrats should use the term “radical Islamic terrorism”. Taking the stage around noon Thursday, Trump offered a somewhat quieter version of his rambling tough-guy shtick, boasting about his wealth, his awards, and his poll numbers.
By suggesting that Israel might need to make serious concessions in a possible peace deal with the Palestinians, Trump was expressing a thought that is rarely circulated in hawkish Republican circles, but he received no reaction from the crowd for his remarks.
